How I made my Kids excited about Panjiri?

As a mother of 2 daughters, it’s always an area of concern to make my kids eat right food that gives them sufficient nutrients and energy to be able to carry on during the day. One of my daughter is very resistant to try out new things until it has something which she likes to eat. I kept looking at various healthy recipes and try to match the tastebuds of my kids. And, was looking for some healthy options that can give them quick energy and strength. 

Panjiri is a wonderful snack with highly nutritious ingredients - it has all nutrients that only one bowl a day with milk is what my kids need to have to pump their energies up during the day.

It gives so many benefits to kids:

Ingredients used in Panjiri is highly beneficial for kids at any age:

  • Desi Ghee - Strengthen bones and muscle development. Rich source of Vitamin A, D, E & K.
  • Almonds, Cashews - Excellent source of fiber, vitamins and minerals like Calcium, zinc, Vitamin E and Iron for healthy growth 
  • Foxnuts - Powerhouse of nutrients including manganese, potassium, magnesium, thiamine, protein, and phosphorus
  • Whole Wheat Flour/Semolina - full of fiber, iron, nutrients, minerals and antioxidants
  • Date Powder - Again rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals necessary for growth and development 
  • Raisins - Rich source of Vitamin B and Iron, helping child stay active throughout the day
  • Pumpkin/Melon Seeds - Contain High protein, essential fatty acids and minerals helps in improved brain development, sound sleep 
  • Dried Berries - Rich source of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, antioxidants and dietary fibre, help in boosting immunity


One of the main Challenge is how to make these kids excited about eating this snack daily. So, I tried Panjiri with a different recipe and customise it with toppings that excites them like berries, chocos etc. 

Other main concern is sugar content in adding panjiri to kids diet, however it can easily be replaced by natural sweeteners like jaggery, date powder, raisins etc. 

And it can be used as a travelling snack food too. So, another worry of carrying ready to eat food during travelling is now sorted too. 

So, now mothers can relax and try out different variants of kids special Panjiri mixed with berries, chocos n lot more and add an exciting, delicious, nutritious Panjiri to kid’s daily diet.
