Liver is one of the most vital organ performing more that 400 different and crucial functions, the most for any organ in particular in the human body. It is the largest among the solid organs (or viscera, plural for ‘viscus’; medical term for internal organ). The other solid organs (or viscera) being kidneys, adrenals, spleen and pancreas. Heart, lungs, stomach and intestines forms the hollow visceras. It is located in the right upper part of abdomen, medically described as to ‘occupy the right upper quadrant of abdomen’ (medically human abdomen is divided into 9 different quadrants for the purpose of study and descriptions). Liver, although is situated in the abdominal cavity but is very well covered and sits well protected in the rib cage of the right side, being separated from the chest cavity and right lung by a muscular sheath called ‘diaphragm. Hence, unless pathologically enlarged it is generally not felt (or palpable) during a clinical per abdominal exam. An enlarged or palpable liver is a clinical sign that might be an indication for further evaluating of ones’ liver condition and might be called for by your examining physician.

My mother name is Kamala Rani. Dr. Vishal handled the surgery which is very major. He operated her very well and also after surgery give us the information what has happened and clarified everything. Really want to thank him from the bottom of my heart.
I had many question lingering worries about the Liver Transplant for my dad (Recipient) and me (Donor) as i was an avid smoker and also to manage thrombosis and slow healing which is natural as a smoker i stopped smoking a week or two before procedure. Dr. Vishal and his team helped me with counselling . Putting his patients first, treating them with respect, understanding needs and most importantly being genuine are one of the few traits of dr vishal and his team. In addition to an EXCELLENT track record of successful Transplant, Dr. Vishal takes care of patients all the way from pre, during and post transplant. Which meant daily updates, personalize care, CONSTANT check up whether it was 8am or 11 pm, He was available. Outstanding team of nurses and great support system. The transplant happened in the end of march 2023 and both me and my father were able to be back on their feet and got discharged within 2 and a half weeks, after the transplant we were monitored for a month The pre transplant phase is one of the scariest feeling and Dr. Vishal is someone I HIGHLY recommend, HANDSDOWN one the best doctors I have ever met. P.s. i am a medical undergrad

A: Orthotopic Liver Transplantation is when the diseased liver is replaced by a healthy liver from a donor who has recently died. This is the most common procedure for liver transplants.
Living Donor Transplantation is when a living person donates a part of his or her liver to someone who needs a new liver. This procedure has been increasingly successful, but it carries risks for the donor, and only a small number of living donor transplants are available for patients with liver cancer.
A: Currently there are more people who need a new liver than there are donors. Therefore, most people will be placed on a transplant waiting list. A: During transplant surgery, the transplant team replaces the diseased liver with a donated, healthy liver. The blood type and body size of the donor have to match the person receiving the transplant. Liver transplant surgery usually takes between 4 and 12 hours.
